You will be embedded directly within our engineering unit, receiving mentorship from leading industry experts. This role offers hands-on experience in a production environment, specifically focusing on the modern Python async stack ( FastAPI ), robust data management ( PostgreSQL ), cutting-edge Agentic AI integrations for personalized insights, and crucial third-party financial integrations.
This position is ideal for an ambitious individual eager to apply their foundational engineering knowledge to real-world problems involving AI model deployment, data governance, predictive modeling, and automated financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and test high-performance backend services using Python and the FastAPI framework, focusing on low-latency data delivery for advisory services.
- Get hands-on experience in building and deploying early-stage agentic AI features aimed at automating personalized advisory workflows and generating predictive client insights.
- Work with PostgreSQL to optimize database schemas, write efficient queries, and ensure data integrity for sensitive client portfolio data and market intelligence .
- Implement and manage reliable connections to third-party financial APIs and build robust systems for ingesting data from documents ( Excel, CSVs, and PDFs ) related to client onboarding and compliance.
- Participate actively in code reviews , upholding high engineering standards and using Git for collaborative version control.
- Contribute to implementing basic monitoring and health checks to ensure the reliability and uptime of our core services.
- Work closely with application developers to design and deliver well-documented RESTful APIs for our internal tools and client-facing digital experience.
- Assist the team in maintaining high standards of SOC 2/Finra compliance and application security.
Requirements
Must Have
- Solid foundational understanding of Python programming (classes, standard libraries, data structures).
- Familiarity with REST API concepts and how client-server communication works.
- Experience with at least one relational database (SQL knowledge is a strong plus).
- Working knowledge of Git for source control (e.g., branching, merging, pull requests).
- Strong analytical skills, a problem-solving mindset , and a proactive eagerness to learn.
- Ability to thrive and communicate effectively in a dynamic, remote startup environment.
Nice to Have
- Direct exposure to the FastAPI framework or other asynchronous Python frameworks.
- Experience with data processing/cleaning libraries (e.g., Pandas) or LLM/Agentic AI tooling .
- Familiarity with deployment concepts like Docker or basic cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Genuine interest in AI in Wealth Management, Predictive Analytics, or financial data security/compliance.
