We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in a versatile role, encompassing bookkeeping, tax accounting, and managerial responsibilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for numbers, meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bookkeeping:

  • Manage Accounts Receivables aging, tracking, and analysis to ensure accurate billing versus collections.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly aging reports, resolving discrepancies in customer payments.
  • Reconcile payment adjustments in QuickBooks and the CRM.
  • Prepare and review client invoices, recording payments accurately.
  • Process payroll data and resolve related issues, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Perform analytical tasks and prepare ad-hoc accounting reports.
  • Handle customer inquiries and critical issues related to accounting.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze work processes to enhance efficiency while maintaining accuracy.

 

Tax Accounting:

  • Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, C-corps, S-corps, and trusts.
  • Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments and conduct independent tax research as needed.
  • Stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and changes affecting both commercial and individual clients.
  • Communicate directly with clients when necessary, providing high-quality tax services.
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Utilize software such as Lacerte Tax and QuickBooks Desktop & Online for tax preparation and accounting tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to address complex tax issues and deliver comprehensive solutions.

 

Tax Manager:

  • Lead a team of accountants, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Oversee financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation activities.
  • Recruit, hire, and conduct performance evaluations for accounting and financial staff.
  • Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budgeting.
  • Coordinate training programs for new staff and identify ongoing training needs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or taxation is preferred; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, tax preparation, and/or financial management.
  • CPA certification is highly desired; the EA designation is also considered.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop & Online, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Lacerte Tax software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with an upbeat attitude.
