Goodbye BSNL, Hello G-Wave Broadband
Here’s an experience I’m sure most members of the Goan startup community can relate to. While awaiting a proper internet connection, we operated by tethering off our 3G cellphones.
Like everyone else, we applied for a BSNL broadband connection. Since we didn’t have a landline connection we had to get one first, when we went to the BSNL office they told us the phone and internet connection would take less than a week to get it installed and functional.
2 months later. And I’m just getting started.
We finally get the connection – a few weeks of using this internet it starts giving us trouble. They’ve got three offices in the same damn city so they made us run from pillar to post for a job that normally take 5 mins, telling us to get written confirmation from one guy, a signature from the next, things that should be conveyed over a simple phone call.
Finally divine intervention; G(esus)-wave was brought to our knowledge, an amazing internet connection that promised such high speeds, making BSNL look really bad. They asked us to submit all our forms at their office as they couldn’t start until all the documentation was in order.
After submitting forms at the G-Wave office we were told it would take about 2 weeks max to get the internet connection completely sorted as they had to draw a cable directly from their office to ours. They came over to our office the next day with the cable and we had a functional internet connection THAT VERY SAME evening, in ONE day, yes 24 hours.
A broadband connection in Goa, within 24 hours. Thanks G(esus)-Wave!
