GIM among 13 institutes to host the Atal Incubation Centre
Goa Institute of Management (GIM) have been shortlisted among 13 other premier institutes in India for setting up of the Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) scheme. AIM will provide a grant-in-aid of up to INR 10 Cr to cover capital and operational expenditure to GIM to establish the incubation centre.
The list conceived by the National Institute of Transforming India (NITI) Aayog along with AIM including Self Employment and Talent Utilization (SETU) is one of the flagship programs of the Indian government to promote entrepreneurship and an all around culture of innovation. AIM is looking to set up close to 100 incubation centres across the country to present a platform for world class innovation hubs, startup and other self employment activities, etc particularly in tech driven hubs.
The facilities provided by the incubation centres will consist of;
- Training and development
- Pre-incubation facilities
- Networking
- Mentoring
- Tech development assistance
- Business support services (Legal, Regulatory, Finance and accounting, etc)
- Funding access
- And more.
Aim hopes that their incubation centres will be the proving grounds to nurture innovative startups in their pursuits to become sustainable and scalable enterprises developing solutions for global change.
