Overview
Backend Developer – Node.js
We are looking for a backend developer with development experience in Node.js to help us build and improve our backend services. You’ll also have a big role in helping our team iterate faster by making improvements in our deployment process.
Your primary responsibilities would be to help build the backend services of our mobile and web apps. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to technical requirements and specifications
- Design backend API’s and architectures, factoring in security, cost, performance, reliability
- Suggest improvements in existing solutions as required and develop new requirements in a proficient manner.
- Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
- Write unit tests
- Work closely with our Testing Team to optimize performance and load test our systems
- Contribute to improving our deployment process
- Monitor error logs, SLA’s, API performance, etc and ensure our systems are operating to specification
Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years development experience as backend developer
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript
- In Depth knowledge of Node.js and a minimum of 2 years working experience as a Node.js developer
- Knowledge of any Nodejs framework.
- Experience building RESTful APIs
- Experience in building backend web services
- Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimization techniques
- Basic understanding of RDBMS systems like MySQL
- Knowledgeable of AWS, cloud lambda, S3 bucket, encryption methodologies and CloudWatch etc
- Continuous integration and deployment experience a plus
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Docker experience a plus
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving approach
