Job Purpose
The Production Team Leader oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pro-Photobook and personalized photo products line. This role combines hands-on technical expertise, line supervision, and operational support to ensure output meets strict quality, volume, and timeline targets. Beyond managing daily workflow and operator performance, the Team Leader plays a vital technical role in prototype development, inventory control, and cross-station coverage.

Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Line Supervision

  • Daily Operations: Oversee all operations on Production Line to meet daily production targets and tight dispatch timelines.
  • Workflow Management: Assign tasks to operators based on skill set, monitor production flow, and proactively resolve line bottlenecks or equipment issues.

Absenteeism & Line Support: Step in and directly operate equipment/stations during operator absenteeism or high-volume peak periods to prevent production delays.
2. Quality Control & Safety

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all finished products strictly adhere to premium quality standards (print quality, binding accuracy, alignment, and finishing).
  • Safety Protocols: Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines across the production floor to maintain a safe working environment.

3. Technical & Product Development Support

  • Prototype Manufacturing: Collaborate directly with the Product Development team to build prototypes, evaluate material behavior, and test new photobook structures or personalized product designs.
  • Process Feasibility: Provide practical, floor-level technical feedback to ensure new products can be efficiently mass-produced.

4. Inventory & Resource Management

  • Inventory Control: Track production inventory (paper stocks, covers, adhesives, consumables) and report usage to prevent material shortages.
  • Resource Coordination: Work closely with the Production Manager to align shift schedules, machine capacity, and raw material availability.

5. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization

  • Identify bottlenecks, material waste, and downtime drivers; propose lean manufacturing solutions (Kaizen, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality Control teams to resolve technical issues quickly.

6. Team Leadership & Training

  • Onboarding & Training: Conduct initial technical and operational training for new operators on machine operation, quality checks, and handling procedures.
  • Performance Supervision: Monitor operator efficiency, provide continuous feedback, and foster a team culture focused on accuracy and craftsmanship.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Educational Background: ITI / Diploma / Degree in Printing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Graphic Arts, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of photobook manufacturing processes, including digital printing, trimming, casing-in, creasing, lay-flat binding, and post-press finishing techniques.
  • Work Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in printing, binding, packaging, or personalized product manufacturing with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
