Overview
PLANNING
Attend meetings regularly and support the Light Engineer in process improvements and revenue strategies.
Familiarize with event layouts, support lighting planning, and inventory distribution.
Update and verify inventory, monitor outsourced equipment, and ensure sufficient stock for smooth operations.
Handle equipment preparation, storage, transportation, and loading per guidelines.
Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all company policies.
COMMUNICATIONS
Contribute ideas, share industry innovations, and train the Lighting Technician on health and safety compliance.
Communicate event schedules, instructions, client requirements, and changes with the team, ensuring smooth execution through management and task delegation.
Notify the Light Engineer of inventory issues that may delay planning.
REVENUE MANAGEMENT
Follow SOPs for inventory outsourcing, support budget execution, and assist with accurate invoicing of deliverables and additions.
EXECUTION
Monitor lighting equipment for quality concerns, support the Light Engineer with client revisions, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Be flexible, multitask, and support other departments as needed.
POST EVENT
Manage post-event equipment prep, storage, and transport, ensuring safe derigging and return to storage.
Assist with loading, unloading, and reviewing event performance, while crosschecking inventory to prevent losses.
MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS
Inspect lighting equipment and structures for defects, and arrange servicing at authorized centers.
Follow up on servicing, costs, and timelines, and report damage or shortages to the Light Engineer.
PURCHASES
Support the Light Engineer in enhancing procurement processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
DRY HIRE
Track inventory movements and verify returned equipment against the dry hire voucher for accuracy.
Requirements:
– Must have experience in event lighting & strong experience in installing, operating, and maintaining lighting systems for events.
– Proficient in reading and interpreting lighting plots, technical specifications, and event requirements.
– Set up, operate, and troubleshoot lighting systems, ensuring timely setups, safe handling, & neat cable management.
– Experience with rigging, focus, and programming of lights for different event types.
– Support the Light Engineer in developing and executing detailed lighting plots.
– Familiarity with various lighting equipment brands and their maintenance.
– Must be able to climb trusses and securely install and position lighting fixtures.
– Maintain lighting equipment & inventory, perform basic tests, & report issues.
– Coordinate with producers, artists, technical crew & with internal tech team.
– Handle high-pressure events, quick turnarounds, mentor juniors, & adapt to flexible timings.
