Design Engineer

Experience: 1 – 5 years

Education: Engineering degree in Electricals or electronics or Mechanical

Job Description:

The overall aim of this role is to carry out the following:

1. Use custom software tools (Sketch up, SolarLabs, PVSyst, Autocad etc) to design PV ground mounted and roof top systems.

2. Perform accurate system sizing calculations.

3. Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel layouts and connection diagrams using computer-aided design software.

4. Develop optimal designs with SLD, conduit and wire scheduling, routing and equipment layout plans and conceptual 3-D renderings.

5. Execute designs that adhere to grid compliance and permitting requirements.

6. Building detailed bills of materials and balance of system components based on system specifications.

7. Coordinate with Sales to develop complete proposal packages.

8. Cross functional interaction with Procurement and Execution for technical clearances and approvals in a timely manner.

9. Conducting remote monitoring of installed plants and ascertaining deviations if any to the designed performance levels.

10. Assisting operation and maintenance teams to analyse plant performance, identify resolution steps and maintain a troubleshooting repository.

11. Assist in documenting and developing industry best practices, standards and guidelines.

12. Understanding the technical specifications and features of the products. Keeping abreast with the latest developments in the field by attending conferences, exhibitions, online research and reading research publications.
