JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL WRITER
DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING
REPORTING TO: DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING
LOCATION: WORK FROM HOME – INDIA
WORK HOURS: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Skills required:

2 to 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer or similar role
Combinational skills such as SW testing, UX designing with technical writing is expected.
Creating documentation for product integration
Understanding of the principles of UX and its impact on content readability.
Work along with product architects and engineers to produce technical content.
Collaborate with product designers, developers and other stakeholders to understand complex product details
Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work
Create technical documentation for all new and enhanced features
Produce user guides/support portal documents for getting started with product features
Identify and address gaps in content
Participate in the review and revamp of existing content and structure
Craft tutorials and other educational resources
Work with the product team to document various processes, procedures and release notes.
Create or maintain a content style guide and glossaries
Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
Translate concepts into wireframes, prototypes and user flows
Work on cross-platform applications to develop user experiences covering mobile phones, tablets and computers
Identify areas for improvement
Analyzing user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience
Ensure design standards, guidelines and best practices are adhered to
Oversee research and insight projects to understand user needs
Skills and Qualities we Look for:

Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
Excellent written skills in English
Experience with software development
EXPERIENCE:

2-3 years’ work experience as a Technical Writer
