About Lumber and Leaf

Lumber and Leaf (LNL) is a timber engineering and build studio based in Auroville and Goa. We take timber projects from concept through structural design to site construction, and we run several at once across India and South Asia. We are small and founder-led, so this role sees whole projects, not slices.

The role

You keep our project information in order and our projects moving: which drawing is current, who has it, what is outstanding, and what site is waiting on. The role combines coordination and drawing management, because neither is yet a full job on its own. As the work grows, you can go deeper into either one.

What you’ll do

• Maintain drawing registers and revision control across live projects
• Issue drawings and documents to clients, consultants and contractors, and record what went where
• Run the outstandings log and chase people to their dates
• Handle the site-to-studio flow: RFIs, site queries and as-built markups
• Write minutes, status notes and short technical summaries that can go to a client as written
• Keep our filesystem to its naming and folder standard
• Use and improve the AI and automation tools we run for repetitive work
• Learn Cadwork, our timber modelling software. We’ll train you, and the path leads to becoming our Cadwork Lead, building models and production drawings from our designs.

This role does not include design authorship, marketing content, purchasing decisions or personal assistance to the founders.

Who you are

• 3-6 years in an architecture, structural engineering or construction firm
• You have personally issued drawings, coordinated consultants and handled site RFIs
• You read plans, sections, details and structural drawings fluently
• You have run more than one project at a time
• You write clear, professional English
• You close loops without being chased, and you can hold a contractor to a date politely

Timber or Cadwork experience is not required. We will teach you both.

Practicalities

• Location: Remote okay. South India preferred.
• Travel: Roughly 3-5 days a month on site, across our project cities
• Pay: Monthly retainer of INR 60,000-90,000 depending on experience, invoiced monthly with TDS deducted
