Art & Design Meetup in Goa on July 20th
In an effort to do something meaningful with our time attract more designers and artists to Goa, we are going to co-host a series of meetups in partnership with various community members in Goa.
What does a meetup targeted at designers and artists that are residents of Goa have anything to do with attracting similar people to Goa, you ask? Well, unlike cities like Prague, Toronto, and SF, Goa doesn’t have any design community or creative neighborhood. Don’t get me wrong – there are a lot of great artists, illustrators and even a few web and UX designers in Goa but we are desperately lacking a canvas for these colors to mix.
We believe that fostering a community here and cross-pollinating ideas, enable networking across various design verticals and basically connecting creative folk from various parts of the world will result in better work being produced, more commercial opportunities and greater visibility from artists elsewhere that have an interest in living life in Goa but worried about the financial downside.
Subodh Kerkar was kind enough to offer us his home in Saligao as a venue for the first Goa Art & Design Meetup.
