Invent-O-Pi Workshop on Raspberry Pi
One of the most prominent technology startups in Goa, Inventrom, will be organizing its Invent-O-Pi workshop on the design and development of Raspberry Pi based systems on the 10th of May 2014 from 9:00AM to 6:00 PM at Inventrom, Near Peoples High School, Fontainhas, Mala, Panaji, Goa.
Released back in 2012, the Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized single board computer that can perform some of the many functions as that of a desktop PC. Portable, tough and cheap, the Raspberry Pi was assembled by a group of teachers, computer enthusiasts and academics with the sole intention of inspiring and youngsters to get more involved into computing and coding.
A Linux based system with a processing speed that rivals that of a Pentium 2 processor, the amount of computing tasks that the Raspberry Pi can perform is stunning. From hosting websites, creating games, playing high definition videos, building your own media center, developing electronics projects, robotics, network storage, it offers an infinite number of possibilities in electronic applications.
Now, nearly 2 years after its release, the Raspberry Pi has not only influenced youngsters, but has also amassed a huge following in the form of hobbyists and tech enthusiasts who incorporate some of its computing features into their household devices in a matter of mere hours, thanks to its relatively simple set-up and coding language.
With a fee of Rs. 2750/-, inclusive of lunch and tea, the Invent-O-Pi workshop offers a chance for working professionals and hobbyists to improve their skill set and in the process equip themselves with knowledge of the latest technologies in electronic devices as well as its applications.
